The mission of the Council is to promote excellence in the provision of quality health care and encourage the efficient use of resources in health organizations, for the benefit of Canadians. To achieve this mission, the CCHSA provides long-term care facilities with an opportunity for voluntary participation in its national accreditation program.
Picton Manor is an active member of the Ontario Long-Term Care Association (OLTCA), meeting their standards for membership.
Picton Manor is licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and is governed by the Province of Ontario’s acts, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care facilities. Ontario Nursing Homes. The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the Prince Edward County health and fire departments review Picton Manor on a regular basis to ensure well established standards for quality care, services and environment are being met.
Fully Qualified Staff
In order to provide our residents with the very best care possible, Picton Manor prides itself on placing a strong emphasis on recruiting and keeping staff who are fully qualified through continuous improvement education programs and training sessions. Examples include the personal support worker training through Loyalist College and the Loyola Centre and courses at Queen’s University, the Ontario Association of Non-Profit Homes and Services for Seniors and the Ontario Long-Term Care Association, Moyra Jones’ GentleCare training and geriatric training.
